Back from the trip - time for some bubbly! The week was full of fun and excitement from the beginning, with the Hot Rod pics and articles, to the end with award for Top Three in 70 Modified.

Power Tour Day Three

Done on Time!

Looks like I made it... barley! Going cruising on Saturday - praying that nothing else brakes! Lots of fun to drive. AC is really cold! Opec loves that I could not get 4:10 gear changed for this trip (lots of extra fuel). I’m broke and tired, but you have the slap the smile off my face when I drive it!

T-Minus 12 Days!!!

Only 12 more days until the Power Tour! Was able to drive it around on Saturday, then spent Sunday fixing the brakes. This week the paint will be buffed and trim will be placed. Car looks and sounds awesome - can't wait to put the final touches on!

Road Test!!!

Got the hood on and put the front and back glass in last night.... and took it for a ride! I think it was fast enough! Doesn't stop too well, though - not enough vacuum because cam has too much overlap. Going to have to use a vacuum pump. Next is putting the trim on and finishing the A/C system.

Engine is Running!

Had some problems, but nothing serious. Have been working on it every night and weekend. My friend, Billy, has been here almost every day and weekend, too. He's been a great help, and is logging in major seat time when the car is done. Carl has also been a big help with the engine and tuning - he spent the day at the exhaust shop with Andrew getting it right. It looks perfect and sounds awesome! Andrew sure can weld! The Viper alarm system is going in tonight - maybe console and new carb - time is running out! Hope to road test this weekend!

Today's pics are going to be sent to the insurance company along with appraisal - looks like tomorrow it will be legal to tag! Maybe by next week I will get to drive it!
